Requirements for Training Participant Candidates to be an Apprentice in Japan
Education and Working Experiences
- Minimum certified High School Formal Education
- Vessel Sub-Contractor/Dockyard Company worker with working experiences for 6 (six) months
- Having experiences in one of the job sections: welder, fitter, piping, wiring, painter, engine assembly, and maintenance
- For unemployed/fresh-graduate candidates, enclose:
- Training Certificate from the Legal Training Institution in one of the job sections: welder, fitter, piping, wiring, painter, engine assembly, and maintenance
- Apprentice experiences at least 6 (six) months in Vessel Construction and Dockyard Company.
Personal Identity
- Male, maximum age 30 (thirty) years old
- Possess Identification Paper of Good Behaviour
- Minimum height 155 cm and weight 50 kg
- Having no physical defect, body tattoo/body tattoo vestige, body piercing, bone fracture, deaf, hernia, skin disease, ambein, hepatitis, and colour-blind
- Having a healthy body proved by medical check-up test result from the legal medical test institution, and pass the physical test of apprenticeship programs, such as: able to run 3 (three) km in 15 (fifteen) minutes and do push-up & sit-up 10 (ten) times each.
Copy of Letters enclosed
- Copy of Residency Card, Family Member Card, Birth Certificate
- Copy of High School Certificate/Diploma
- Copy of Working Experience Reference from the company that is active in Dockyard and Machine Industry activities
- Recent and colourful photo: size 3 x 4 = 4 sheets
- Application to attend “Apprentice in Japan” program written by the applicator
Identification and Statement Letter
- Written Statement Letter, adequate stamp contents the capability and willingness to attend the Apprenticeship Program at the company in Japan for 3 (three) years
- Permit from parents/relative/wife, adequate stamp, in order to attend the Program of Apprenticeship in Japan.
- Statement Letter that have never attend the Program of Training/ Apprentice in Japan
- For company workers/ex-workers acquire The Reference Letter from the company.
Passing Examination
Pass the Administrative, Physical, Medical Check-Up, Psychological, and Interview test as a training participant candidate of “Apprenticeship in Japan” program.

- Japanese Language and Culture
- Increase / Knowledge in job section of :
- Welder
- Fitter
- Piping
- Pinter
- Wiring
- Engine assembly
c. General Knowledge of :
- Theory of ship building
- Ship building construction
- General arrangement of ship building
- Working instruction of ship building
- Working culture ship building industry in Japan
